You can count on it!

Also Mr. Mike Duddy, who suffered a heart attack.

The following is an extract from an email we received this morning. May she rest in peace.

Quote:
Just to let you know that dear Liz passed away at 3.30am 15/1/08. At 3 am she came out of her long stillness and reached out & put her arm around Margaret. Margaret was constantly talking & praying with her & Liz responded with nods of the head. Liz turned towards where I lay and tried to say my name. Margaret woke me (I had been sleeping for the previous 2 hours on a camp bed next to Liz.)She wanted to sit upright & then managed to say “water” so I moistened her mouth. After this she tried to talk more but her voice was too weak to understand what she said but she was calm. Margaret & I were by her side for as she tightly held her Crucifix (she had held this little wooden Crucifix since Monday & became agitated if she dropped it) I told her once more of my feeling about her what a wonderful selfless life she had led. We both recited simple prayers as she held my hand & then she quietly stopped breathing & passed away. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.

We will be having a rosary & viewing on Sunday evening & a requiem mass at Corpus Christi 11am Monday.

Thank you for all your prayers & those of your family, please pray for the repose of her soul.

I only worked this out something amazing afterwards as I have been a little dazed due to very little sleep. The last food to pass Liz’s lips was the Holy Communion from Fr Pepping last Friday. After this she was unable to swallow food & and from Sunday all water. Liz’s death was the most beautiful I have ever witnessed & very different to what the doctors had said might happen. It was an answer to all the prayers, novenas & masses offered for her many good Catholics.

All of my children & 2 spouses were with us with ten minutes of her passing. Eleven of us knelt around the bed and offered up a full Rosary for the repose of her soul & in thanks giving for her life.

May she rest in peace. Our prayers are for her family as well in their time of sorrow. God bless them all.

I'll have Fr. Bradley offer a Mass for her and Mike Duddy's souls and their families.

Thanks all, and I'll mention the Mass offering to Mick, Liz's husband.

She really was a wonderful Catholic mother, and her life would make a great book. One of those intensely interesting journeys, from an atheist upbringing to anarchism, to the Novus Ordo, to tradition, to sedevacantism, to a beautiful death fortified by the sacraments.

Btw, Ken, I don't think Mike Duddy passed away, did he? Hopefully he is recovering!

I didn't think or say he did. However, I think he needs a Mass. :(
