On the Admonitions of Titus 3:10
The attached essay is an analysis of Catholic history, laws, and teachings which illustrate the true nature of the "admonitions" referenced in Titus 3:10: “A man that is a heretic after, the first and second admonition avoid”.
I wrote this essay because I know someone who believes Titus 3:10 is a divine command to all Catholics to avoid a heretic after two personal attempts to correct their error. This person goes as far as to tell people that they are sinning mortally if they go beyond two conversations, or even two emails, in order to try to correct or convert someone. This person also says the Catholic is sinning mortally if they have any communication or association with the person they just used their two attempts on. You can imagine the havoc this has wreaked on their lives and others.
I appreciate any critical comments, as I do not in any way consider myself an expert on these things. I'm just trying to find truth through the Church.
