             Say not, merciful Virgin, that thou canst not help me; for thy beloved Son
             has given thee all power in heaven and on earth.

             Say not that thou ought not to assist me; for thou art the Mother of all the
             poor children of Adam, and mine in particular.

             Since then, merciful Virgin, thou art my Mother, and thou art all-powerful,
             what excuse canst thou offer if thou do not lendest thine assistance?

             See, my Mother, see, thou art obliged to grant me what I ask, and to yield to my entreaties.
